Frequently Asked Questions
I know the functions I need, but I’m not familiar with fabric composition or processes. What should I do?
- That’s very common. At Starke, we first ask about your application, end product, budget, and required standards or certifications. Based on this information, we recommend 2–3 suitable fabric options, explain how each function works, and provide samples for evaluation.
What’s the difference between two similar fabrics, and why is there a price gap?
- We provide a clear comparison chart showing composition, weight, density, yarn count, color fastness, functional performance, and processing methods. The price difference usually comes from different materials, construction, and finishing processes, which directly affect quality, durability, and overall performance.
Can you find the same or a similar fabric to my reference?
- Yes. We first review images to confirm feasibility, then ask you to send a physical sample. After detailed analysis, we may offer an identical match, 2–3 highly similar options with clear differences, or a better-performing or more cost-effective alternative if exact matching is not possible.
How much fabric is needed to make garments with this material?
- We provide basic data such as usable width and fabric weight, along with an experience-based estimate. For example, a regular women’s blouse (size M) usually requires 1.3–1.5 meters. Final consumption should always be confirmed by your pattern maker for accuracy.
Can the price be reduced if my order quantity is large?
- Yes. We offer tiered pricing based on order volume and clearly explain the cost structure. For long-term cooperation, we may arrange annual contracts, special agreement pricing, or rebate programs to help you achieve more competitive costs.
What is your minimum order quantity? Can I place a trial order?
- Our minimum order quantity is usually around 500 kg per fabric. Sampling is supported, though sample prices are higher. If sampling costs are not acceptable, we can help source similar stock fabrics from the market and reproduce them for bulk production.
What is the lead time? Can it be faster?
- We always provide a conservative and reliable lead time and communicate proactively if any risks arise. If the order is urgent, we will clearly explain available expedited options, possible extra costs, and how many days can be saved, so you can balance time and budget.
What if the bulk fabric is different from the approved sample?
- Please provide comparison photos under standard lighting. If the difference is within industry tolerance, we will explain the standards clearly. If it exceeds tolerance, we take responsibility and promptly offer solutions such as reprocessing, replacement, or price compensation.
What if problems occur during cutting or sewing, such as curling or skewing?
- Our experienced sales or technical team will investigate to determine whether the issue comes from the fabric or the production process. We provide professional advice when appropriate. If it is a fabric quality issue, we will take responsibility and prevent recurrence.
What if the fabric fails tests or shows issues after washing?
- Please provide a third-party or internal test report. We will verify whether results meet the agreed standards. If the fabric fails to meet commitments, we treat it seriously, apologize immediately, and negotiate compensation such as rework costs, discounts, or recalls.
Can I return leftover or unused fabric?
- Custom-made fabrics are generally non-returnable. However, we actively help clients reduce inventory risks by assisting in resale through industry channels, B2B platforms, or, in special cases, negotiating partial inventory offsets against future orders.
